‘There is a wall to be crossed, and I am the wall’ is a collaborative, process-driven platform for contemporary art and experimentation. The project ambition was to push boundaries, shaping
a space that differs from the white cube and its traditional cut
between passive audience and artist. The project combined three
main participating artists: Alina Lupu, Isabel Cordeiro and Nina
Glockner.
It created opportunities for three emerging local artists to develop new works, and present them to the public within a different framework. The project expanded throughout the time creating more possibilities for exchange and development.
‘There is a wall to be crossed, and I am the wall’ is a project that explored and questioned the core elements of art curation and creation. This initiative challenged the form and content of what exhibition and artistic practice mean, their boundaries, limitations and opportunities.
This project included:
- Performative studio visit
- Process based work/action in the neighborhood
- Group exhibition
- Series of site-specific audiovisual performances and a printed publication
